About Film Alley
| We are a group of photography and/or videography
enthusiasts that are looking forward to meeting new friends
and people alike in sharing experiences and are committed to
exploring into the world of digital imaging.
The advancement of the digital imaging technology has
opened a whole new world of creativity and possibilities.

Why Film Alley ?
 |
In both video and photography, at many times, we would
like our digital masterpiece to look like or at least close
to the quality of conventional films. Most of us (we really
mean not all) would like to give our digital video that
'film look', our digital photos that 'film texture'. Greater
dynamic range, higher sensitivity, cine-like gamma curves and so forth are
the commonly used jargons in achieving better quality output.
| We are not top-notch professionals in these areas. We are just the very
common user-enthusiasts, discussing these topics and our gears now and then
along our humble alley, not highway - and hence, we named this site 'Film
Alley'. |

What have we done so far ?
Since snapping pictures and shooting videos are our hobbies, we never
forget to have an event at least once a month. All our members have been
quite active so far and their keen interest in digital imaging has further
driven this community further. We have had outdoor shooting activities to
various interesting places:
| In May 2004, we started our first
event with a quick a simple shoot-out at Danga Bay with a cute
model, Li Fang. And that was also her first time in such activity,
posing in front of so many cameras and camcorders. We hoped
that we hadn't intimidated her affecting her mood that day!
Late afternoon in the middle of the
year is always hot and humid. Our poor girl Li Fang had to pose and
smile as if she's enjoying the weather under the great hot sun! |

 |
We had so much fun and laughter. At the end of the day, we felt that
the event was very fruitful and everyone suggested the group to
organize more of such outings in the future.
In June, we visited Johor Bahru's Hutan Bandar and Sultan Garden.
Here, we took a closer look at the mature nature, in the middle of a
busy city. |

|
In July, filmalley attempted an
event with a slightly different mood - we climbed up to Bukit Tinggi
to relax while enjoying the beautiful scenery there.
The cool weather up there really boosted our photography spirit.
This unique resort has really provided us with some unique
photography opportunities. |

We went on the other extreme end of
the focal length this time, zooming into animals in our Singapore
Zoo expedition in August. |
